BRINELANTERN HARBOR - Rules excerpt (fictional sample game) Overview Each player guides ships into a foggy harbor from their own lighthouse. The game lasts 6 rounds. The player with the most victory points at the end of the game wins. Setup Place the tide track next to the board and put the tide marker on space 1. Shuffle the fog tiles and place them face down on the harbor spaces. Each player takes 3 lanterns, 2 cargo tokens and a hand of 5 crew cards. Put the remaining cargo tokens in the supply and the remaining lanterns in the reserve. Playing a round Beginning with the starting player and going clockwise, each player takes one turn. On your turn, perform exactly 2 actions: - Light: Spend 1 lantern to reveal a fog tile adjacent to your lighthouse. - Hire: Play 1 crew card from your hand. Resolve its effect, then place it on your discard pile. - Load: Move 1 cargo token from the supply to a revealed harbor space. After every player has taken a turn, advance the tide marker 1 space on the tide track. If the tide marker reaches a wave space, every player returns 1 cargo token to the supply. End of the game After the 6th round, each cargo token on a harbor space that you revealed is worth 2 victory points. Each unused lantern is worth 1 victory point. If there is a tie, the tied player with more crew cards in hand wins. Important You may never have more than 5 lanterns. Excess lanterns go back to the reserve. The supply and the reserve are separate: cargo tokens never go to the reserve, and lanterns never go to the supply.
